Pattern updates: Knit Now 120

All Knit Now patterns undergo a rigorous series of checks before publication, but sometimes small errors do slip through. The following pattern updates have been reported in Knit Now 120

Melanie Jumper

To complete the Gansey-inspired Melanie jumper, please note the following

In the “Sleeves” section, (page 16),  after working Rows 1 -5, the instruction is to repeat rows 4-5 a further 22 times.  It should read:

  • Rep rows 4-5 a further 6 (6, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19) times.” [i.e. work 12 (12, 12, 16, 22, 26, 30, 34, 38) short rows]

On page 17, the section on Both Sleeves (2nd column) states “Next Row Work  * stitches fewer at the end of each row (*times). To clarify, this means reversing the short rows of the section previously mentioned, i.e.

  • Next Row (WS): Work in patt to last 9 (9, 9, 8, 8, 2, 12, 8, 4) sts, w&t.
  • Next Row: Work in patt to last 9 (9, 9, 8, 8, 2, 12, 8, 4) sts, w&t.
  • Work 5 (5, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2) sts fewer at the end of each row 13 (13, 13, 17, 23, 27, 31, 35, 39)
  • more times.”

For each of next 13 (13, 13, 17, 23, 27, 31, 36, 39) rows, the knitter will work to 5 (5, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2) sts before previous w&t.

  • For each short row the rows work progressively less of the length of the sleeve, ie “fewer sts” than the previous WS/RS row to shape the top of the sleeves. So for her next row, it would be –
  • Next Row (WS): Work in patt to last 14 (14, 14, 12, 11, 5, 14, 10, 6) sts, w&t. (e.g. in XS this is 9 sts minus the 5 sts fewer than worked in the previous row)
  • Next Row (RS): Work in patt to last 14 (14, 14, 12, 11, 5, 14, 10, 6) sts, w&t.
  • Next Row (WS): Work in patt to last 19 (19, 19, 16, 14, 8, 16, 12, 8) sts, w&t… etc

Summer Shells Jumper

In the Stitch patterns (A & B for all sizes), all “k2tog” should be “p2tog“; and all “ssk” should be “p2tog tbl” as in our chart key.

Reindeer jumpers

The instructions for the Adult and Child Reindeer jumpers were unfortunately switched during the layout process. The correct patterns and charts can be downloaded here:
