Knit Now 103: Sneak Peek
It’s almost here…
…your joyful new issue of Knit Now!
As we head into the summer season, we’re embracing happy colours, fun prints and all things bright and beautiful! We’re seeing rainbows everywhere this year, so we had to ask our designers for their woolly takes on the trend. Whether you choose to knit our stripy socks or Sophie McKane’s fab umbrella pullover – whatever the weather, you can still shine bright!
I know that some folks tend to knit a little less in the warmer months, but I just switch to smaller projects – and there’s no shortage of those in this issue. Georgie the Giraffe uses just one ball of yarn, and the Seashore Cushion is knitted in lovely summery cotton.
Our cover garment – Kristen Singer’s stylish cotton top – is the perfect layering piece for sunny days, and can be knitted in no time. If you’re looking for something for the littler people in your life, check out Amy Pickard’s adorable Delph baby cardigan – a simple technique with an impressive result!
Not sure what to cast on first? Grab a cuppa and a slice of cake and have a little read before you decide. Lots of folks we’ve spoken to recently have said that they’re a bit nervous to play with colour, so this issue we’re determined to help you out. If you fancy getting adventurous with colour, read Editor Kate’s top tips, and for those who want to shake up their knitting even more by changing the yarns in a pattern, we’ve also got an easy guide to yarn substitution. Here’s to your brightest summer ever!
