Tea Cosies for Victory with Prostate Cancer UK

Designer Libby Summers is teaming up with Prostate Cancer UK with knitting patterns for their Tea for Victory campaign!

Some times Knit Now designer Libby Summers has been working alongside Prostrate Cancer UK to come up with some delightful tea cosy patterns for their new campaign Tea for Victory.

The tea cosy collection is designed to be knitted in Libby Summers Chunky yarn and isaimed at the busy knitter or beginner knitter, as the template tea cosy pattern is verysimple.

There are three designs in the collection to inspire people. A 1940s vintage style tea cosy, adorned with roses, a plain cosy with a sewn badge with the Tea For Victory slogan ‘Tea Needs You’, and a fair isle version, which cleverly looks like a cow design from a distance, but is actually made up of the Prostate Cancer UK logo of a man.

Libby’s motivation for getting involved in this campaign comes from her own experiences. Both her uncle and father were diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago.

Gabriella Bailey, head of community fundraising at Prostrate Cancer UK said:  “Tea For Victory is a new and exciting venture from the charity, which aims to bring people together to enjoy a traditional British institution, whilst helping to support the 250,000 men living with this disease in the UK. We thank Libby for her support and wish her all the best of luck.”

The Tea Cosies For Victory patterns and kits are available at Libby Summers website here, and to download three designs as a PDF for the price of £3.50 head over to Ravelry.
